ICM Overview

Integrated Cleaning and Measurement (ICM) is a system that tracks the quality and effectiveness of cleaning processes in commercial and public facilities. It uses measurement tools and metrics to meet cleaning goals and improve cleaning outcomes. For example, it can measure the time spent on cleaning tasks and the level of dirtiness on surfaces or in the air with devices like ATP meters or particle counters, plus evaluate hygienic cleanliness and conditions favorable to the growth of harmful organisms.

ICM provides a scientific way to measure contaminants quickly and accurately for reliable, objective, repeatable results. These scientific methods are better than just relying on visual inspections, which assume that if something looks clean, it is clean.

ICM can also bring other benefits, such as higher customer satisfaction, improved safety, lower worker turnover, fewer worker injuries and lower labor costs. ICM works best when it integrates all aspects of the cleaning program into an empirical approach that guides decision-making.
